Where many vibrators buzz like a mosquito, the Manta rumbles like a V8 engine. Here are some practical tips on using the Manta vibrator for penile rehabilitation as well as for pleasure. It also works surprisingly well with a partner.
I bought my Manta three years ago as a support for penile rehabilitation after prostate cancer treatment. I still use it for both gentle therapeutic healing vibrations and for sex play.
Using the Manta vibrator for penile rehabilitation
Here’s a helpful and pleasant routine to encourage blood flow to the area after prostate cancer treatment. Place the body of the Manta against your perineum, with its two softer “arms” wrapped around the base of your soft penis. I use the default vibration setting but you can adjust to suit yourself. Then I simply leave it in position for 15 minutes, using my underwear to hold it in place. It really helps to have the substantial vibrating body of the Manta lying snugly against the perineum, held between your thighs.
The vibrations radiate warmly in all directions, including genitals and more importantly up into the zone previously occupied by your prostate. It feels to me like a treatment that encourages my nerves to grow back and also recharges the deeper and more subtle reservoirs of my libido.
Using the Manta for purely therapeutic purposes like this, I can get on with work at my desk and just feel the comfort of healing happening deep inside me. I practiced this routine almost every day in my first year after prostatectomy. I still use it two or three times a week.
The rumbly vibrations feel as if they are stitching those damaged erectile nerves back together, and I am convinced the vibration therapy really does help. I have experienced slow and fairly steady recovery of erectile function over more than three years since radical prostatectomy.

You might also like to read some of the scientific literature on the use of Penile Vibratory Stimulation (PVS) and Low-intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (LIESWT). The medical devices used in these studies are different but somewhat related to the Manta consumer product. As the literature says
care and support for ED after Radical Prostatectomy and Radiation Therapy is highly demanded by a large group of patients, so measures have to be taken even though the evidence is not strong yet – Penile Rehabilitation and Treatment Options for Erectile Dysfunction Following Radical Prostatectomy and Radiotherapy: A Systematic Review (2021)
Mixing penile rehab and pleasure with the Manta
At first I used my Manta strictly for therapeutic rehab. After a while though, my body started to pick up more of an interest in the pleasurable sensations. Simply sitting with the Manta down my pants (as described above) produces wonderful deep rumbles through and all around the genitals. These pleasure signals got me exploring more intense solo pleasure with the Manta. I discovered that it is completely capable of inducing a strong orgasm. Even in a flaccid penis. Self-pleasuring is what the Manta was originally designed for!
I really prefer human touch for sexual pleasure. But there is something about the depth of the Manta’s rumbly vibrations that definitely got me going. The fact that it is a solid, well built device with a long lasting battery (USB chargeable) helps. And the “arms” that wrap around the penis do create delightful stimulation if you arrange them to touch the most sensitive parts of the penis. The manufacturer, Fun Factory, calls them “firm-but-flexible silicone wings.”
For those who are struggling with poor quality orgasms after prostate cancer treatment, I challenge you to try the effect of the Manta wrapped around the most sensitive parts of your frenulum (under the tip of your penis). You might even find, like quite a few men after radical prostatectomy, that you have developed a capacity for multiple orgasms. If you can stand keeping the Manta in place after orgasm.
Using the Manta for partnered pleasure
My partner and I have been surprised how much fun we can have together with the Manta. It basically turns my penis into a vibrator for her, and she loves it. It’s all a bit messy and chaotic, trying to juggle the Manta, my not-so-reliable erections (or semis), and keep the Manta vibes also in contact with her most sensitive parts. But somehow it works.
Like me, she never liked the small buzzy vibes, and the deeper rumbles of the Manta have helped us unlock some creative sexual play. The toy also helps reduce the stress of my on-and-off ED.
I first heard about the Manta here, including Victoria Cullen’s wonderful video review that inspired me.
