My new favourite cock ring
Here’s what I like about my new favourite cock ring from Firmtech. It is an exceptionally smart and comfortable design, using wonderfully soft, squishy comfortable material called elastomer. And it has a very clever “wrap and hook” loop design which is super easy to get on and off without doing your private parts any damage. Read on if you are wondering how the image featured above could find its way into your sex life.
It does really well at supporting my relatively unreliable erections due to a combination of prostate cancer treatment and age. I love the fact that it helps me overcome ED without taking PDE5i drugs like Viagra or Cialis. It’s also good for strengthening and prolonging healthy erections, enabling men of all ages to “go” for longer.
Depending on the exact configuration of bodies during heterosexual penetrative sex, the soft “bump” where the ring traverses the top of the base of the penis can also provide stimulation to a partner’s clitoris. [Editor’s note, January 2024: according to a reader, at least one female partner found that “bump” on the ring more irritating than sexy. Others couldn’t feel it at all during intercourse. Anatomies and intertwinings vary.]

Easy and elegant to fit and remove
All other cock rings I have tried are awkward to get on and off. And if you want to put them around the scrotum as well as the base of the penis – well, you risk serious pain if not damage to your crown jewels if the lubed and stretched ring were to slip just as you are trying to manoeuvre it over those delicate egg-shaped balls.
The Firmtech cock ring just wraps around and clips shut. So easy. And it solves the problem of over or under the balls, by simply having two arms – one goes under the sac, the other one snug around the base of the penis. The impact of this “two branch” ring for me is both better erection support and a very comfortable way of increasing pleasurable sensation in my scrotum and testicles.
Good for those who don’t want to shave
Like keeping a full bush and don’t want it uprooted? Of all the rings I have tried, the Firmtech is the least likely to take out your pubes when you remove the ring. When you release the clip, the stretched rubber can relax gently and you can pick it out of the nest of hair at your leisure. Doing your bit to keep natural bush sustainable…
Firmtech cock ring effective in supporting mild ED
After prostate cancer, my erections are unreliable and easily deflated. I find I can put on the ring while soft or chubby. Then the Firmtech cock ring helps me build on any swelling that manifests. And if and when I do get fully hard, this ring keeps me there for longer, even during the push and pull of penetration which otherwise tends to deflate me.
Controlling climacturia
I understand that several men struggling with climacturia (leaking urine during orgasm) have found the Firmtech cock ring effective in keeping themselves and their partners dry. I would love to hear from men and their partners who have experience with this.
Increases penile sensitivity
Those who have experienced some form of erectile disappointment or dysfunction know that the last 5% of hardness can be the most pleasurable. There is something about having the penile tissues and skin stretched to their maximum that is simply exquisite for the owner of the penis. I have been hugely impressed at the way the Firmtech ring helps me get to full hardness and stay there with all the resultant rewards of rich sensation.
Keeps you firm for longer
Designed to wear for longer than many ED-support rings, this ring does maintain quite a lot of firmness even after orgasm. It certainly extends the pleasure of lovemaking in a very nice way. For somebody like me with unreliable erections, it supports a return to relaxed connection without the stress of constantly (and sometimes embarassingly) humping to stay hard. After hours of testing their own products, Firmtech co-founder Ann Justin says “it means much less pressure on me to keep a constant focus during sex, where previously the slightest interruption could lead to his erection failure and frustration.”
Three different models to choose from
As of December 2023, Firmtech offers three models of their innovative cock ring design. The one I bought and described above goes by the very macho title of MaxPR. I chose it because it has the tightest fit, and I already know that in the world of cock rings, it doesn’t do to overestimate the girth of your own penis. A little modesty in ring size generally leads to a better retention of erection firmness. However I have since discovered the larger more comfortable ring works equally well for me.
The three models are:
- Tech ring – this is the one that includes the data logger, charger and erection tracking app
- Performance ring – similar to the tech ring but without the data logging function or app
- Max Performance ring – the one I bought, because it has a tighter fit for erection support.
You can get the cock rings direct from Firmtech in Montana, USA – they ship worldwide. Editor’s Note, January 2024: The manufacturers sent me a review copy of the Tech ring. I have been trying it for a month and here is my review. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the looser rings used in models 1 and 2 above are more comfortable and as effective for me as the tighter Max version reviewed above.
